| Route 1: A1 to Scotch Corner, then A66 as above. Route 2: M6 to J40 Penrith. Left on A66 for 13 Miles to Appleby turn. Left to town and keep on B6542 through the town until you see a church on your right. You are facing the Courtfield Hotel. |
Route 1:
A1 to Scotch Corner. Turn left along A66 towards Penrith for 35 miles to left turn to Appleby on B6542. After a further mile The Courtfield Hotel hand side of the road. Route 2: M6 to J38 Tebay. Turn left on to B6260 to Appleby (12 miles). On entering town follow main road down Boroughgate and across river. At T junction turn right for ½ mile. The Courtfield Hotel is on your right. Take care this route can be difficult in winter, also beware sheep particularly in lambing season. |
